2026 OREGON LABOR STRIKE SCHOOL

From AFL-CIO: Despite the onslaught of attacks on workers from our federal administration, working class Oregonians continue to stand up and fight for fair contracts, dignity, and respect on the job. In this moment, a strike threat is one of the most effective tools workers are using to win not only higher raises, but protections for immigrants, trans people, and better working and living conditions for all.
That’s why we’re holding the annual Oregon Labor Strike School on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at SMART Local 16 in Portland.
We’re honored to have union leaders, activists, and bargaining team members from across the state gathering to learn how to craft strategies that make credible strike threats powerful and effective. Participants will leave with practical tools for running strong shop floor campaigns that turn up the heat at the bargaining table and drive employers toward signing fair contracts.

The Details:
Payment: Registration is $75 per person (financial support may be available through GEU) and includes a free union-made and union-designed t-shirt. Payment can be made ahead of time or at the event. We encourage prepayment to make signing-in at the event more efficient for everyone.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided for participants. We are happy to accommodate food allergies and dietary preferences—just let us know what you need when you register.
